Being able to view catalogs on-line, I can print only the pages that have the animals of interest to me. My work requires me to spend a considerable amount of time working on a computer, so magazines and newspapers are usually only scanned quickly, if at all, then trashed immediately or “saved for later review” (translation: piled up and thrown away several weeks later). "Being an Angus breeder I find the Internet an infinite source of data, breed information, ideas, products, plus doing all the registering and transfers electronically.
The sale catalogs and reports allow me to see how the many sires and cow families are selling and how they are performing for other breeders. All this and tons of other information with just the touch of a keypad. Bidding online is great when you are unable to attend. There used to be an advertisement that said "Let your fingers do the walking", well the fingers now can do the walking and almost everything else. One of the big advantages to me is this takes up so little space and is forest friendly, we can utilize our trees for a better purpose. My wife would say the two biggest advantages are no messy areas where I would pile up all the material and I do not lose the info on the computer and have to ask her where it is." Joe S.
